Il Moro after 3 months of hull preparation at Ventura Boatyard. The Dennis Conner PACT 95 colors were stripped, sanded, epoxied, faired, primed, "long boarded" every surface and curve was made as close to perfect as humanly possible. The surface was smoothed to glass. Then 4 coats of Awlgrip Toreador red was sprayed on. After each coat the hull was wet sanded, then sprayed again. The Toreador red provided a very red undercoat. The original red color, with some orange,  was painstakingly researched by Ventura Boatyard, Awlgrip with help from Fernando Sena, Tencara the builder and Bill Koch the winner of the America's Cup.
